Triple Literacy Resources

The new Triple Literacy Posters should by now have reached your school. This pack, commissioned by the Welsh Government, contains 30 posters (10 each in French, German and Spanish) and aim to help learners make explicit links between the MFL, Welsh and English and gain a greater understanding of the way languages work. PDF versions of the posters, which could be used as stimuli for group or pair work in class, can be downloaded freely from here and from www.ngfl-cymru.org.uk

It is important to note that the purpose of each poster is not to teach a particular grammatical rule, but rather to exemplify the rule or particular language function across the MFL, Welsh and English. This allows teachers the flexibility to make comparisons across languages and to develop pupils’ knowledge about language and language learning strategies in the most appropriate way for their pupils.

This section will exemplify and share ideas on how to exploit particular posters in the classroom. Click on the title of the poster to view the associated lesson ideas.

We would love to hear about effective activities that you have undertaken with your pupils, so please pass them on to us and we could feature them in future newsletters and on our website.
