Raising the profile of MFL
This section includes advice and examples of ways to raise the profile of MFL in your school and local area.
There are many things you can do in and outside the classroom to bring languages into sharper focus; from taking part in competitions to running a school-wide languages day to celebrate the European Day of Languages to international on-line projects, school visits and exchanges, there’s always something you can do to make pupils more aware of the usefulness of languages.
You should also ensure that everyone in the school community is aware of the benefits of language study. CILT Cymru worked in partnership with Governors Wales to produce an MFL factfile for school governors.
Here are just a few examples of how schools have raised the profile of MFL in their school.

Holding a languages day - Glyn Derw High School, Cardiff
Using a theatre production to motivate year 9 - Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, Newcastle Emlyn
