Pupils from Llanishen High School have seen how foreign languages can be used in the Welsh workplace on a visit to Capital Law.

A group of Year Nine German students spent an afternoon at the Cardiff-based law firm discovering how classroom theory can translate into hands-on business experience.

The Welsh Government has produced a DVD of examples of good practice in supporting minority ethnic pupils from a variety of school settings across Wales. It is intended as a resource for practitioners, containing practical guidance for implementing effective techniques and promoting high standards of provision for the education of minority ethnic pupils.

For the first time this January the Welsh Government will start to collect information on the first language of all compulsory school aged pupils in all maintained schools through the Pupil Level Annual Schools' Census (PLASC).
