How can you get involved?

There are several ways in which you could get involved with the Business Language Champions Scheme. There is no cost, just a little of your time and enthusiasm. Here are just a few of the options:
-
Talk to schools about the importance of languages to your business- just hearing this from a business person can have such a positve impact.
-
Host a day(s) of work experience for pupils and/or a MFL teacher. It can really be an eye opener for both pupils and teacher to get a snapshot of how languages are used outside the classroom
-
Become a language mentor for a local pupil.
-
Provide access to company resources in other languages. Even e mails and faxes in the target language will impress.
-
Run an " apprentice style " session in which pupils could present a company product to the company in the foreign language
-
Assist pupils with writing CVs and honing their job interview skills in the target language.
-
Pupils could develop marketing and other business specific projects in the target language.
-
Pupils of French could even deliver a lesson in the target language to front of house staff or employees who answer the telephone to foreign customers
CILT Cymru would play a leading role in coordinating BLC visits and help you plan suitable activities and presentations.
