Up to date help and advice on Transition...

With the current interest and activity in primary language learning it is vital that schools maintain the momentum of an early start by addressing the issues of Transition.

An inspiring 20-minute DVD that offers an insight into what is being achieved in Project cluster schools throughout Wales.

CILT publication 13 Mind the Gap provides practical advice to help teachers in both phases bridge the gap between primary and secondary language learning, outlining the importance of knowledge about the pupils' achievement and experiences. The book considers initiatives at local, national and school level which support continuity and progression. It offers suggestions for appropriate methodology, assessment, records of achievement and activities which strengthen links between the schools and the teachers involved. Teacher's TV - this particular programme explores the idea of skill sharing between secondary and primary teachers and how each can bring their particular experience and mindset to the learning situation (NB when the date passes, clips are stored in the video library)
