Yes, I couldn't do my job if I wasn't totally bilingual

Could you tell us more about the nature of the job outlining main tasks and responsibilities?
Providing written and simultaneous translation of a very high standard to all departments of both local authorities (councils). This can range from issues relating to education to the enviroment, and from social services to licensing

Do you use your languages frequently? If so, in which situations?
Yes, every day at work.

What other jobs have you done since leaving university?
Before becoming a translator I was a university lecturer.

What is the best thing about learning another language in your opinion?
It gives you a different perspective on the world.

What would you say to those who are reluctant to carry on with their languages?
Don't give up! Who knows where your languages could take you!
