The Welsh Assembly Government has announced its
intention to ‘refresh’ its MFL strategy ‘Languages
Count’ by September 2008. It plans to do this by commissioning
a review of the measures undertaken between 2002-2006 by CILT Cymru
and other agencies, together with a report making recommendations
for future development.
Alwena Lamping, a Welsh-speaker and distinguished contributor to
the Nuffield Inquiry, will be leading this review, and will be consulting
members of the MFL community in Wales at all levels as part of this
process.
