BCB International, a company tucked away on an industrial estate in Cardiff was a real find for the BLC Scheme. The company designs and manufactures high quality gadgets and products for the military worldwide.

Modern Foreign Languages at Brynhafren Comprehensive School in Barry is really taking off.

Foreign languages have flourished at the school and this is very much as a result of the exciting challenge set by the Airport this year.

The steel plant in Port Talbot has always provided the backdrop to the lives of students of Dyffryn Comprehensive School in the town.  However, little have the children realised that there is a firm link between French at school and the plant. One pupil exclaimed “I didn’t know they used languages there!”

Ancon is a company which designs and manufactures high integrity steel products for the construction industry. Within Ancon, French, German and Spanish is spoken. One of their UK plants is located in Deeside Industrial Park.

On the 27^th January 2011, 8 NVQ students from Bishopston Comprehensive School, Swansea were lucky enough to visit the Spectrum Technologies offices in Bridgend.

‘Cardiff and Co’ is the organisation responsible for promoting Cardiff. Carys Pugh D’Auria, the Head of Trade and Investment at ‘Cardiff and Co’ visited Cantonian High School on the 2^nd of February 2011 in order to highlight the link between MFL and selling the city to the outside world.

In October 2009, Brynmawr School year 9 pupils linked up with a visiting French School at Big Pit. Since then, years 7, 8 & 9 pupils have been corresponding with pen pals from College Jean Gremillon on a variety of topics such as exchanging recipes and cultural information.
